Born and raised in Calgary Alberta, Margery graduated from the University of Calgary in 1995, with a Bachelor of Fine Art majoring in painting and photography. She has spent her life in Calgary to be close to her family and the mountains she loves so much.

Having spent a great amount of time outdoors, Margery has a tremendous respect for the natural world. Through hiking, climbing both summer and winter, canoeing and skiing, she is able to experience and appreciate the changing seasons, the beauty of the land and the soul there in.

Inspired by the rugged beauty of the Canadian landscape, Margery focuses her painting on the places she has visited. Not only is she inspired to get out and do, she feels that by representing the locations she has experienced, she can honestly render the feel and the mood.

Margery is currently a founding member of The New 7 Painters Society of Canada. She is a member of the Leighton Art Centre, Canadian Artists Representation/Le front des artistes canadiens (CARFAC), Landscape Artists International and a supporting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work has been collected both nationally and internationally.
